The Timber & Smoke Christmas Gift Guide (Order Before the Deadline)

Every year around this time I say the same thing: order early. Every year, somebody doesn't, and I'm engraving maple blocks at 11pm on the 23rd. So this year I'm getting ahead of it.
This is the short list. Not everything we make, just the stuff that shows up under trees, in stockings, and on mantles every single year without fail. Sorted by who you're shopping for. Grab what fits, order it before the deadline at the bottom, and you're done.
For the family that just grew by one

This is the one that sells out. Their name, their birthday, the exact minute they arrived, engraved into a solid maple block that hangs on the tree this year and sits on a shelf every year after. It's the single most-gifted thing in the shop, and it's not close.
If someone in your life had a baby this year, this is the gift. Stop scrolling, put it in the cart.

For the family that plays cards on Boxing Day
Cribbage is a holiday game whether your family knows it yet or not. It comes out after dinner, gets handed down from whoever taught everyone to count to fifteen, and eventually becomes the thing somebody inherits. Engrave the family name and the year, and you've turned a game into an heirloom.

Built from real cherry or black walnut, milled here in Ontario, with a magnetic peg box in the back so the pegs stop vanishing into the couch cushions. It hangs on the wall between games like art, comes down when it's time to play.

Personalized Cribbage Board

Nobody hangs on to the wrapping paper. Everybody hangs on to the thing with their name on it.
For the mantle, not the tree
A candle is the easiest personalized gift there is — everybody burns candles, nobody expects one with their family name laser engraved into the wood lid. It's a genuinely nice-smelling gift that also happens to be a keepsake once it's empty.

There's also a dedicated Christmas Memory Candle if you're shopping for someone missing a person at the table this year — a quieter kind of gift, but one that means a lot to the right person.

For the kid who won't stop talking about hockey
Same idea as the first-Christmas block, built for the sports-obsessed kid instead of the newborn. Name, number, team, position, all six sides engraved into maple. It sits on a shelf all year and gets pulled out every time the team wins.

Stocking stuffers, sorted
If you need something small, personal, and under $25, these two are the answer. Nobody expects an engraved gift in a stocking, which is exactly why it lands.

The date that actually matters
Everything here is made to order, one at a time, by hand — which means there's a real cutoff for Christmas delivery, not a marketing one. Get your order in by December 10th to be safe. After that we'll do our best, but it's a workshop, not a warehouse, and I'd rather tell you now than apologize in two weeks.

If you don't see the exact thing you're picturing, send us a message. Half of what's in the shop started as someone asking “could you make this?”
